Above is the script we created for our film trailer.

Film Name

After me and my partner discussed what name we should have for our film, we decided that the best way to settle the discussion was to let our target audience chose what the film name should be,
we created a survey and gave them to teenage girls aged 16-17. we also changed the name to "Say You'll Love Me" as we thought that the previous one was too long.
Bellow is an example of the survey.
The results for the survey.
By using the survey we have decided to use the name "Say You'll Love Me" as it was the most popular.

Our Pitch

When we first thought about our pitch, we had a difficult time deciding on one as we have never had to do something like this. We finally came up with "Love turns old. But who said it couldn't become new again?". We know it's not perfect but it was all we could think of at the time, we will keep thinking about what we could change about it, but until we think of a better pitch this one will do.

Influence

For our film trailer we have decided to create a Romantic/Drama. We will be using existing Romantic Drama films as inspiration for our film. Bellow are some film trailers that we thought were very effective. We liked how captivation they were and how they made the audience want to know more about the film and we wish to recreate this experience in our own trailer.

DEAR JOHN (2010)

REMEMBER ME (2010)

Locations???

Library- we will be using a book shop called Waterstones for the library scenes. We will be using this book shop as it closer to us and in my opinion it looks better than our old library.

6th Form Block- we will be using our schools 6th form block for scenes in the offices. We will mainly use  We will be using a school building as it is easy accessible to us

Film Name

Because we could not decide on a name we decided to do a survey to find out what our audience want.
The name I gave was "Say You'll Love Me Again"
The name my partner gave was "Passion Returns"
The survey was out of 20 and they were given to teenage girls aged 16-18

Types Of Film Trailers

There are 5 different types of film trailers

Theatrical Trailer
  • Maximum length of two and a half minutes
  • Usually cut form the first cut of the picture
  • can be cut form all the shot footage if there is no first cut yet

Teaser Trailer

  • Usually not longer than a minute and a half
  • Cut from a few takes and scenes from the picture

TV Spot

  • 15,30 or 60 seconds in length
  • Usually don't have much to do with the theatrical trailer
  • Produced separately from the theatrical campaign
  • Usually use different music from the theatrical trailer

DVD Trailer

  • Usually the same as the regular theatrical trailer, but may contain alternate or rejected scenes

Internet Trailer

  • Produced exclusively for the internet
  • May contain music or footage that doesn't appear in the theatrical trailer

Production Company Name

After a lot of discussing and arguing we have finally decided on a name for our production company
the name we have chosen is 'Loving Sign Films'. We chose this name as we thought it would be nice to have an original and unique name, as we thought it could attract some more viewers to our film.

The name for our trailer is still up for debate. we are now handing out surveys to find out what name would best fit our film.

Considerations

We have to consider a lot of things before we start production.

1) our production name
2) our film name
3) soundtrack
we have to make sure that all music we use is copyright free as to prevent legal actions. Last year we used the website http://freeplaymusic.com/. As this is a website we have used before we will be using it again this year. The website is a copyright free so all the music on this website we can use without worry of copyright.

Name

We have been discussing the name of our film, unfortunately we can't agree on one that we both like. I am thinking of doing a survey on which name people like, and we will give it to our target audience (teenage females) to see what film they would prefer to watch.

We also can't think of a name for our production company as most names we have made up are already in use. this has made it difficult for us to think of a name that we can use that is original

Title Ideas

Above is a mind mad that we created while we were thinking of a name for our film.

Audience Profile

Our audience will change from last year as we did a horror film. and since romantic films are more targeted for a different audience. Our audience this year will be more aimed at females aged 15-24.

Personally I don't want the film to be aimed at 15 as I think that it would turn into a different genera that I have in mind as a 15 year old would have different preferences to a 18-20 year old and i would also have to make sure the film is appropriate to the age group, this would limit our film and censor some of the content.
That in mind we have decided to aim for a late teen audience. We will also think about adding content that will suit other audience (i.e male, people that don't like romance but like drama)
Bellow is an example of our target audience.

Our Film Genre

Because last year we did not get very high marks we have decided to change our film genre, we looked at the website http://visual.ly/complete-list-film-sub-genres so see what type of film we would like to do.
Last year we created a horror, over all the filming was good but we have decided to go in a different direction this year by looking at the website we have decided to do a romantic drama. This might bee difficult for us as we have never attempted to do a romantic movie, fortunately I am a big fan of romantic movies, books and other media, so I will be should be able to understand a little of what the audience wants in a film.

Romantic drama- a drama which focuses on the elements of romantic love between two protagonists. These films usually have happy ending, or at lest bittersweet endings. Often tearjerkers and more popular with women. These films can be linked to other genres, such as romantic comedies, or rom-coms, which still have the element of drama but not as strongly as just a romance.

PLANNING AND BRAINSTORMING

Who are you working with?

I Will be working with Flavio Alves on this project because last year we worked together to create our film opining and we found it easy to work with each other. Last year we did find some difficulty working together in a group, for example if one of us was absent the other would find it difficult to find the work the other person was doing and so work would be put on hiatus until they found it. This could be fixed easily with better communication.

Who I Will Be Working With?

I will be working with Flavio Alves again for this project. The reason behind this is because we worked well last year during our AS course.
