Magazine Cover Feedback

We have asked for feedback from our teacher and co-workers and they have told me that they believe that it's really good except for the large body of text on the right hand side also they told me to add a date and price.

Me and my partner have considered all the advice we were given and we will decide on what we need to change and what we want to stay the same.

Movie Poster Feedback

Above are the notes that we were given to us by our colleagues and teacher.
They told us that the photograph we were using was good but the colour scheme we used did  not match our genre. They said that it was too plain and bland.

They told us that we should consider moving our text to other places to make the poster flow better.
We also forgot to add the release date onto our poster so we will need to add that before we post the final.

Both me and my partner have listen to the feedback and will take into consideration the critiques we were given and work on what we feel we need to.

Our Magazine Cover (Draft 1)

Above is the first draft of our magazine cover. The photograph was taken using my Canon E0S 400 Digital camera and the photo editing software we used was Adobe Photoshop CS6.

We used an existing magazine as inspiration for our magazine. The magazine is called Total Film I have done some research on this company in one of my earlier post.

Our Film Poster (Draft 1)

We have started creating our Movie Poster, I took the photograph with my Cannon E0S 400 Digital Camera. I took the photograph so it would match the comedic aspect to the film. I had Leticia do some work on a computer while having guy lean over her shoulder trying to get her attention.
I will ask for feed back form my teacher, colleagues and people of my target audience.

Movie Poster Examples

I have decided to look at some of these existing movie posters as to give me some inspiration on what it is i want my poster to resemble. The posters i am using for inspiration are from some of our favorite romantic films.
The poster above is for the film P.S. I Love You, this is one of my personal favorite romantic movie. The purpose of the poster is to advertise the film, but it is also used to show actors, directors and other important people that had a role to play in the creation of the film. The colour pallet of the poster is very bright, it doesn't us much dark tones and it uses soft lighting to complement the colours. The key image in the poster is the lard photograph of Gerard Butler embracing Hillary Swank. The tagline "Sometimes There's Only One Thing Left To Say" helps us understand the genre a bit better.
The poster tells us that it is a film adaptation of a book, it uses the words best selling novel, is is to get people that was interested in the book to be interested in the film and
This Film poster doesn't have an opening date, which is very unusual for film posters

This poster is really simple but it is able to express the genre of the film with ease, The text of the film is centered making it easy for your eye to move through the poster

The poster above is for a modern romantic film that is not out yest. the film will be released in June 6th.
The photograph used in the poster is a simple but affective
unlike most movies posters this one doesn't have a credit block.

Filming in London

On Friday we went up to London to start filming. We managed to film everything but the library scenes, the reasons for that is because the staff at the book shop we were going to use said we needed permission form the head office, unfortunately there was no one at the head office and because we did not want to get band form the shop we decided that it would be best to attempt to film at a later day. We decided to film at our local library, other than that it was a really productive day and we managed to do a lot.

Technical issues

This was the filming schedule for Wednesday 11th. But because of some technical issues we were unable to film that day. We have then decided to change the date to a later one when we will have access to the equipment we need.

This was the Filming for Thursday 12th. We had to residual this filming day as well as one of our actors could not attend the filming. This date also had to be re-scheduled to a later day

This is the schedule for the December 13th. We will be taking a trip to London to film scenes 1-2. our setting will be Trafalgar Square and the bookshop Waterstone.

This is our schedule for Monday 16th December. For this shoot we wont be needing to travel as far as London as we will mainly be using our Sixth Form building aster school. we will be filming scenes 3-5. the approximate time this shoot will take will be about 1 hour. After we have finished filming this scene we can start editing.

Tuesday 10 December 2013

script changes

we have changed a few things on the script. We did this because we felt like they had to be changed, and that with these changes the dialog would be more realistic and believable.

Loving Sign Films

We chose to call our Production Company 'Loving Sign Films' because we thought it was relevant to us, as the makers of the Trailer

Considering our Teaser Trailer genre is a Romantic Comedy, we thought it would be suitable to have a Production Company that matched with our genre.

After deciding on the name of our Production Company, we now needed to consider what the Logo will be. We don't really think that our old Production Company name from our As Media Project would suit for this, because we made it up in a rush as we were running out of time. Therefore, we know we could make a better one.

Discussing Our Production Name

Me and my partner spent a long time discussing our product name, we wanted it to be 4 things:
  • We wanted something simple
  • To be relevant to us
  • Easy to say
  • Professional
We had some rough ideas as to what we wanted:
  • Panic Sigh Productions
  • Love Decade Studios
  • Loved Love Films
  • FLavio & Luqman Productions
  • Loving Sign FIlms
  • Affectionate Addition Pictures
  • Or we use our old Production Company name (AL Productions)

Proposed Location- The Library

Bellow are some photographs we have taken of our location.
We wanted to have pour school as a setting as a lot of romance films start off with a school romance.
_________________________________________________________________________________
We will be using a book shop in London for the scenes in the Library, we are using a book shop in stead of a library because in our opinion the book shop has a better feel to it. The book shop we will use is called Waterstones.

_________________________________________________________________________________

We will be using different parts of London to film any mucilaginous scenes.
The main setting we will be using will be in and around Trafalgar Square.
